Meaning of the Symbol of the Bishop’s emblem

   

 

  1. The whole emblem is depicted in a triangular shape which shows the whole pervading presence of the Holy Trinity

  1. The descending dove on the cross shows the epiclatic presence of the Holy Spirit who transmits eternal life into the perishable.

  1. The circle around the descending dove depicts the Holy Eucharist, which nourishes the People of God.

  1. The rays from the descending dove, behind the cross depicts the all creating power of God renewing the face of the earth. Ps 104/ 30, Ac. 2/18, Joel 2/28

  1. The St. Thomas Cross depicts the resurrected Lamb of God who stands amidst the imperfect - the six lambs and confers his perfection on the imperfect.

  1. The Sheep depicts the people of God in want of life in its fullness, being led to the green pastures and still waters of the river of life. Ps 23/ 1-2

  1. The whole design of the emblem shows the work of God giving “life and life in its fullness.”

          Dark Red-         Cleansing Fire Is 6/6

                     Light Red -        Renewing power

                     Gold –              Glory of God

Silver-         Immaculate Heart

Blue-           Soothing Power - Representing Mary Mother of God.

Green-        Hope
